I am an Honors wildlife student focused on working in the conservation of important species in the world. I am a Certified Veterinary Assistant through the Texas Veterinary Medical Association. I plan to use my strong passion for this world's incredible ecosystems to ensure their continued survival.

I have worked as a veterinary assistant and a dog groomer. I have accumulated skills in animal handling, animal behavior knowledge, animal welfare, nutrition, health, and general animal care, as well as my experience in veterinary medical care and assisting in everything the veterinarian needed.

• Shadowed under Dr. Kimberly Sabo at Star of Texas, and interned under Dr. Joanah Rojo at Manchaca road and learned more about the vet field.
• Assisted in appointments and surgical procedures.
• Helped around the clinic with cleanliness, organization, and learned advanced techniques like restraint and venipuncture, cytology, radiology, and pharmacy care.
• Did a lot of dog grooming and bathing while in my practicum program.

Zoo Shadow- Intern

August 2022, Fort Worth Zoo.

• Learned about exotic animals and their health needs. Assisted in the preservation of endangered species and their breeding projects, feeding and training of large birds of prey, reptiles, and mammals.
• Helped with maintenance and labor around the property.

FFA- Raising Meat Chickens- Primary Caretaker

September 2019 - April 2020, Bowie Barn

• Raised 80 broilers from hatching to slaughter, and placed 30th at Travis County Youth Show.
• Practiced humane agricultural practices when interacting with the birds.

Wild Deer Capture- Handler

November 2023 - East Foundation

• Handled over 100 wild white-tailed deer in the interest of obtaining medical and scientific samples for record keeping. 
• Collected samples from antlers, helped collect samples like blood, ear biopsies, lactation, and biological indicators like body weight and length. 
• Assisted in the capture and release of deer.
